With just over two weeks till the Haryana Lok Sabha elections, three Independent Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) have withdrawn their backing for the state's BJP government and are endorsing the Congress from the "outside." With 40 MLAs, the BJP is now ostensibly positioned in the Assembly. Now that there are 88 members in the House, the majority score is 45. Though it asserted on Tuesday that four Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) MLAs may also provide “tactical assistance to the government if needed,” bringing its total number of supporters to 47, the BJP government now has the backing of 43 MLAs.
